Recovery Orientated Community Based Intensive Support Rehabilitation Service

Te Roopu Taurima provides support for people with high and complex needs, including people with serious mental illness and at least one other complicating factor such as a brain injury, medical fragility, acquired cognitive impairment, or intellectual disability.

Te Roopu Taurima kaimahi (support workers) understand the needs of those with difficulties in these areas, and focus on helping tangata whaiora (clients) achieve the best quality of life.

With a strong emphasis on improving tangata whaiora lifestyles, this service provides opportunities for integration and participation in activities based on personal goals.

Recovery Orientated Community Based Intensive Support Rehabilitation Services are provided via a contract with Northland DHB and are primarily based in Whangarei. This service supports people who present with a mental health related diagnosis.

Referral Process

Referrals to Te Roopu Taurima are made by the Northland District Health Board.

In order to be referred, tangata whaiora must have mental health as a primary diagnosis.
