 Cultural based activities are offered during the day to mokopuna within our service and to intellectually disabled people in the community.
Activities include:
- Kapa Haka (Maori action songs)
- Mahi Kai (cooking)
- Mahi Raranga (flax weaving)
- Mahi Toi (art work)
- Mau Rakau
- Nga Mahi a Reehia (Maori recreational activities)
- Tukutuku Weaving (panel weaving)
- Whakapakari Tinana, Waiata (strengthening exercises, singing)
Activities are taught by kaimahi who are knowledgeable in tikanga Maori and te reo Maori. Our kaumatua and whaea are available for guidance and assistance. Day services are open to intellectually disabled people in the community and to those that reside in other organisations in the following locations.
